In this section we will learn how to export and upload your Maths Online interview Data.
When extracting the following Student ID information it is for the current year levels, meaning if you are trying to extract previous year’s data you are going to need to make the proper adjustments to the student’s year level in column E.
Step 1: Download the Maths Online Template
Please download the blank Maths Online template from inside SPA. This can be accessed by logging into your account and going to the Help-> Templates section in the menu.
Step 2: Open the Downloaded file.
Once you have downloaded and opened the file it will look like this. This is the template into which we will be entering all of your Maths online data.
Step 3: Login to the Maths Online website.
Next you will need to go to the following link
https://www.eduweb.vic.gov.au/mathematicsonline/ and enter your username and password
Step 4: Once you have entered we need to first extract a list of all your students. Click on the Admin Button
Step 5: Select Students and past them into the excel template.
We now need to pick up these students and past them into the Maths Online Template. If you do not have the template open please open it up now. Highlight the list of students from the first student ID to the bottom by clicking and dragging your mouse down the list of students. Hit Ctrl-C on your Keyboard (Command-C on Mac) to copy this list of students.
Step 6: Open the Maths Online Template and past in the data.
Now open up the Maths Online Template and click on the Student ID Button to open up the student ID worksheet. Click in the cell underneath the student ID heading and hit Ctrl-V (Command-V on Mac) to past the list of students into the template. It should then look something like this.
Step 7: Fill out the interviewing year.
You then need to manually fill out the Assessment Year Column with the year the assessment was done. Once you have done that the final file should appear as shown below.
You do not need to worry about the buttons showing up in the excel template. Our Software will ignore these.
Step 8: Repeat Steps 4-7 For all classes
Please now repeat steps 4-7 for all the classes you would like to add to the template. It does not matter what order they go into the template just as long as you have all the information for the students before we move onto the next step.
Once you have done that, click on the “Back to homepage” button at the top of the page.
Step 9: Select the results for export
We now need to get the results for each class. To do this click on the profiles button
You now need to make the following selections
Choose the Class you would like to extract then leave Students As default.
Choose Profile: Group profile for spreadsheet
- Choose Profile: Group profile for spreadsheet
- Profile will be produced for answers to Sessions up to and including: (Semester and Year Level for which you want data)
- Leave everything else as default and click Finish
Step 10: Copy the results into the Excel Template
We now need to pick up these students and paste them into the Maths Online Template. Highlight the list of students from the first COACH NAME to the bottom by clicking and dragging your mouse down the list of students. Then hit Ctrl-C on your Keyboard (Command-C on Mac) to copy this list of students.
Step 11: Open the Template
Now open up the Maths Online Template and click on the Number Sem 1/Sem 2 worksheet (depending on whether it’s the start or end of the year data). Then Click in the cell underneath the COACH NAME heading and hit Ctrl-V (Command-V on Mac) to paste the list of students into the template. It should then look something like this.
Step 12: Repeat Steps 9-11
Please now repeat steps 9-11 for all the classes you would like to add to the template making sure you extract the Number for each class and semester. It does not matter what order they go into the template just as long as you have all the information for the students.
