Marking Rubrics

In this section we are going to learn how to mark a Rubric for an individual Student or Cohort

Step 1: You first need to choose the Student or Cohort you would like to mark

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not know how to select a student or cohort from the student/cohort selection menu please refer to the instructions found below

Step 2: Once you have selected the Student or Cohort you are now ready to mark your Rubric

Step 3: Navigate to the mark Rubric option in the main menu

  1. Select Markbook from the main menu
  2. Then click Marking
  3. Then select Rubric

Step 4: Find the Rubric you would like to mark

You will be presented with a list of all your published rubrics. You can scroll through this list to find your rubric or you can filter down the rubrics by selecting the domain and strand. This will present you with a list of only the rubrics in that domain and strand.

Step 5: Select to either see a preview or mark the Rubric

Step 6: Select the date you are marking this Rubric for

  1. Select the Calendar icon to bring up the date selector
  2. Navigate to the date of the Rubric
  3. Click "New" to begin marking the Rubric for that date

If you have selected an individual student from the "Student or Cohort" Selection menu then you will see only that student and all the Criteria and Descriptors ready to be marked for that student.

To mark a student click on the Descriptor for the first criteria

  1. The selected descriptor will be highlighted
  2. and the students current total mark will be updated

Once you have finished marking all the criteria for that student click the "Save" button to save their results

Mark a Cohort of Students

Mark a Cohort of Students

If you have selected a cohort of student from the "Student or Cohort" Selection menu then you will see a list of all the students in that cohort ready to be marked.

To find a student to mark, you can either scroll down the page and find the student or use the search option to find the student

When you have found the student you would like to mark, click the "Edit" button next to that student

  1. The selected descriptor will be highlighted and
  2. The students current total mark will be updated

Once you have finished marking all the criteria for that student click the "Save" button to save their results

The student's results will be saved and you will then see a list of all the student's remaining to be marked

Continue down the list of students and finish marking and saving all the Student's in that Cohort.

You will see a summary of the number of correct answer next to each student, this is a simple way to know if you have already marked that student.

You have now finished marking the rubric for this Student / Cohort. You can now choose another student or cohort to mark or move on to another section.
