Running Records- Text Levels 1-30 & Fountas & Pinnell A-Z

In this section we are going to learn how to create the data needed to import your Running Records Data into SPA.

Step 1: Download the Running Records template.

To Do this

  1. Log into your SPA account
  2. Click Help & Instructions in the menu system on the left
  3. Then Select Instructions/Templates from the dropdown list.

You file should now download to your computer. The default location for downloads on your computer is in the downloads folder.

1b: Save the file to your computer

Once you have clicked on the template your computer will either download the file directly to your downloads folder or it will ask you where you would like to save the file.

Save the file to a location where you can easily access it.

Open the downloaded template. Making sure to click "Enable Macros" when opening the file.

Step 3: Select the test you would like to mark.

  1. Click on the appropriate button to select the correct Running Records to complete.

Step 4: Fill out all of the information in Column A-F

For each student

  1. Enter the Year (E.G 2016)
  2. Year Level
  3. Home Group (optional)
  4. Student Name (first and last)
  5. Student ID (Student No.)

Please Note! These are self marking templates. Please be very careful not to remove the formatting on the cells and any formulas that are in them otherwise the templates will not work correctly.

You will notice you have the option to enter results 3 times per term. You do not have to use all of these but they are there if you would like too.

Step 6: Save the file

Once you have entered all the results into the template you are now ready to save the file to your computer.

Step 7: Upload the file to SPAstandard
